Common questions

What code changes does the Appflow migration need?
Uninstall @capacitor/live-updates, install @capgo/capacitor-updater, run cap sync, and call CapacitorUpdater.notifyAppReady() at startup. Capgo runs the sync, download, and reload steps natively, so you can delete that code.
Do I need a new App Store and Google Play release?
Yes, once. The updater is a native plugin, so ship one store build that includes Capgo. After that, web changes reach users as live updates. Users on older builds keep pulling from Appflow until they update.
What happens to my Appflow channels and version matching?
Recreate your channels in the Capgo dashboard. Capgo version targeting covers Appflow automatic version matching, so each native version only receives compatible bundles.
When do I need to finish the migration?
Existing Appflow projects can run until December 31, 2027. Ship the Capgo build well before then so most users have updated when Appflow stops serving bundles.
