Common questions

Is Microsoft CodePush still available?
No. Microsoft retired App Center, including hosted CodePush, on March 31, 2025, and archived the standalone CodePush server repository.
What should React Native teams use instead of CodePush?
EAS Update from Expo, or a self-hosted copy of the archived CodePush server. Capgo does not support React Native.
What should Capacitor, Ionic, and Cordova teams use instead of CodePush?
Capgo. It ships JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and asset changes without store review, with channels, encrypted bundles, automatic rollback, and one-click revert. Plans start at $12/month billed yearly.
Is Capgo a drop-in CodePush SDK replacement?
No. Capgo uses its own Capacitor plugin, @capgo/capacitor-updater. You remove the CodePush SDK and deployment keys, install the Capgo updater, and recreate your deployments as Capgo channels.
