Log Insights

Log Insights is the default view when you open an app’s Logs tab. It summarizes the most important diagnostic and error signals so you can decide what to investigate before reading individual log rows.

Choose a 1, 3, 7, or 30 day period at the top of the page. The selected interval applies to the summary, categories, trend, version table, and device table.

The top cards show:

  • Errors in period — the total matching error events.
  • Affected devices — distinct devices that produced those errors.
  • Action count — the number of distinct error actions.
  • Top priority — the action with the largest share of errors in the selected period.

The priority callout links directly to raw Logs for that action and date range.

Log Insights groups the error data in several useful ways:

  • Error categories show each action’s count, affected devices, bundle-version count, and last-seen time.
  • Daily error trend shows how error volume changes across the selected period.
  • Top error versions identifies the versions associated with each action.
  • Top error devices lists the devices most affected, including the action, version, count, and last-seen time.

Select an error category to open matching raw logs. Select a device to open its relevant device logs.

When you start or increase a progressive rollout, check Log Insights after the cohort has generated enough activity. Compare the candidate version with the previous stable version, then use raw logs to confirm whether the top action is caused by the rollout or by an unrelated device condition.

For runtime performance and issue-rate trends, use Observe. For all individual update, policy, and diagnostic events, switch to the Logs subtab described in Application Logs.

Connect Logs for raw events, Observe for native performance health, and Progressive rollouts for controlled release delivery.
